Former Fulham midfield Robert Wilson thinks The Cottagers can’t afford another season out of the top flight if they want to keep hold of their star players.
Fulham currently sit 3rd in the Championship six points off of West Brom who occupy top spot.
Scott Parker’s side missed out on the chance to break into the top two last night after they were held to a 1-1 draw at Millwall. Aleksandar Mitrovic scored his 21st goal of the season to give the visitors the lead before Millwall equalised just four minutes later.
Mitrovic has been a shining light for the West London outfit this season- the Serbian striker is now top of the division's scoring charts.

However, ex-Fulham midfielder Rob Wilson revealed he thinks that promotion is essential for his former side this campaign if they are to keep hold of stars like Mitrovic.
Speaking to Posh Boys on Drive, Wilson said: “He [Mitrovic] isn’t going to stick around for ANOTHER season in the Championship, we all said at the beginning of the season we had the best squad on paper.
“With the likes of Knockaert and Cavaleiro, they’ve both flittered in and out, both have had great games and both have had average games. Mitrovic has been a revelation, as he has been the last two seasons.
“The signing of Hector has really been the difference since the turn of the year when he was allowed to play for us, we have had four out of five clean sheets since he’s been there. He looks like an absolute quality player and will be key for us.
"The likes of Knockaert, Mitrovic and Cavaleiro, if we don’t get promotion this year there will be other clubs sniffing around.”
