Brian Statham

The former right-back is a much loved player at Brentford, where he made over 150 league appearances, but began his career in north London with Tottenham, during which time he pulled on the Three Lions at under-21 level.

After two seasons at Gillingham, Brian spent some time in non-league football, most notably at Chelmsford and Chesham, captaining the Buckinghamshire side during his benefit match against Tottenham Reserves in 2000, managed at the time by former teammate Chris Hughton.

Brian has briefly dipped into the world of football management since his playing days, and his son Maxwell also possesses the football bug, playing for Tottenham’s under-18s in 2018/19.
