Sam Saunders

Brentford, Wycombe and Dagenham & Redbridge fans will be very familiar with Sam Saunders, who made a combined 350 league appearances for the trio.

The midfielder played in the EFL as recently as September 2018, and the Brentford Hall of Famer is a valuable addition for LOVE SPORT when talking about the modern game.

Before becoming a professional footballer, the Bexley-born Sam worked as an electrician on the London Underground and initially took a pay cut to strap on his football boots.

Sam has a business brain too as co-owner of custom swimwear company Thomas Royall alongside Chelsea and England legend John Terry and fellow Bexley boy Liam Ridgewell.
