Leon McKenzie

The original footballer-turned-boxer.

Leon McKenzie started his life as a footballer at Crystal Palace and over an 18-year career he also played for Norwich, Peterborough, Coventry and Charlton before moving to his final clubs Kettering and Corby Town.

Most people would be happy with this in the sporting sphere but not Leon. No, he thought “let’s become a professional boxer” and that’s exactly what he did.

Over a four-year boxing career, he had a record of eight wins, one draw and two loses.

He had a shot at the English Super Middleweight title, but lost on a split points decision.
