Having only signed less than a month ago, West Ham new boy Tomáš Souček has already sustained an injury which will see him out of action for over a fortnight.
The Czech Republic midfielder picked up the knock during the Hammers spirited display at Anfield, where after leading 2-1 at one stage, they eventually fell to a 3-2 defeat to champions elect Liverpool.
Souček has been one of the few positives in his three appearances for West Ham, though he is still waiting for his first taste of victory in a Hammers shirt; his new side have not yet secured a league win since the turn of the new year.

It only adds further misery on to an already depressed fanbase, as West Ham are now without one of the starting midfielders as they gear up for a relegation dogfight.
Some Hammers took to Twitter to vent over their seemingly endless bad-luck.

Tomas Soucek playing 2 & 1/2 games for West Ham - injured
I do wonder how much is riding on that Soucek injury though. He and Ogbonna were brilliant last night and if he’s out for a while then that’s going be a significant loss. Now would be a great time for Haller to perk up.— HeadHammerShark (@TheHList) February 25, 2020
The injury means boss David Moyes will be without Souček for one of West Ham’s trickiest fixture periods of the entire campaign. The Hammers face the daunting prospect of upcoming trips to Arsenal and Tottenham, but have a huge clash at home to Southampton first.
West Ham currently sit third from bottom, two points adrift from safety.
Soucek has never had a serious injury, comes to West Ham plays 2 games and he’s out for the season. #westhamway— Steve ⚒ (@StevehJack9) February 25, 2020
Mistakes and luck undo us tonight. But positive to see some fight. Ngakia looked the part. Hoping Soucek injury isn’t serious because he also covers the ground so well and calm in the middle, something we’ve been desperate for. Southampton at home now. Huge game— West_Ham_COYI (@West_Ham_COYI) February 24, 2020
Soucek hit by the West Ham injury curse already.— AllSportsView (@AllSportsView) February 24, 2020
The 24-year-old suffered a hip flexor injury, though it was fairly innocuous and shouldn’t see Souček carry too much long-term damage.
