Transfer news is back to bring you all the Premier League gossip from Friday's papers, analysing the biggest stories so that you don’t have to.
Ramsey close to Juve switch
Juventus have agreed a deal in principle to sign out-of-contract Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, according to a report in Italy from Calciomercato.
The Welshman is set to bring an end to his decade long stint at the Emirates and had no shortage of admirers with PSG and Bayern Munich also interested in his services.
But the Italian giants are set to win the race to the sign the 28-year-old and could announce a deal this month.
Reports suggest the midfielder will be offered a five-year deal worth close to £6 million a year by Juventus, but he would not move to Turin until the summer.
Love Sport verdict: Juventus have always appeared favourites to sign Aaron Ramsey once it became clear he would not sign a new deal. The club remain his preferred destination and a move to the Serie A giants would be an excellent move for the midfielder at this stage of his career.
Morata keen on Real return
Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata would prefer to join Real Madrid despite continued interest from fellow La Liga outfit Sevilla, report the Sun.
The 26-year-old has endured an inconsistent spell at Stamford Bridge and would be free to leave the club if they can bring in a replacement.
But it seems likely that any move will only be sanctioned if Juventus’ Gonzalo Higuain reunites with his former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri.
Morata, who has scored 22 goals in 71 games for the west Londoners, has only started 11 Premier League games this season and is thought to be keen on a return to his native Spain.
Love Sport verdict: A move for Gonzalo Higuain has stalled so the prospect of Alvaro Morata being allowed to depart this month seems unlikely. But while the Spaniard has failed to justify the £60 million outlay that Chelsea paid for him in 2017, any deal looks likely to be concluded in the summer.
Emery: No truth to Navas link
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has distanced talk linking the club with a move for Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas, the Mirror report.
It comes a day after the Costa Rica international signed a new deal at the Bernabeu until 2021, effectively ruling out any move to north London.
Emery insisted the speculation was always unfounded and expressed confidence in his three senior goalkeepers.
Arsenal are well stocked in that department, six months removed from shelling out £19 million on Bernd Leno in the last window.
Love Sport verdict: If there was any genuine interest, which Arsenal have heavily denied, then any move is off after Keylor Navas penned a new deal with the Spanish giants. Put this one in the ‘dead in the water’ category.
