Transfer news is back to bring you all the Premier League gossip from Friday's papers, analysing the biggest stories so that you don’t have to.
Bernabeu switch for Rashford the Real deal
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford would consider the advances of Real Madrid after the Spanish giants expressed interest in his services, according to The Sun.
It is understood that Real will move for the £50 million rated player if his situation doesn’t change at Old Trafford.
The 21-year-old has failed to hold down a regular place under Jose Mourinho, starting just five of 12 league games this season.
And the striker may consider a move in order to continue his development amid warnings from Gareth Southgate that he needs to be playing regularly to remain in the frame for England.
Love Sport verdict: If Marcus Rashford fails to break into a Manchester United team in which Jose Mourinho has shown a willingness to rotate, then what chance has he got of holding down a spot in a side as rich in talent as Real Madrid? A move abroad in a similar mold to Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson may help his development in the long term but a switch to the Bernabeu appears unlikely for now.
Spurs target Eriksen extension
Mauricio Pochettino remains confident of tying down star midfielder Christian Eriksen to a new deal, report the Evening Standard.
The Dane has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid with his current deal set to expire in 2020.
Talks have failed to reach a conclusion with the 26-year-old’s representatives despite commencing at the back end of last season.
But boss Pochettino insists he is not worried and believes Eriksen’s long term future is with Spurs.
Love Sport verdict: Tottenham can ill afford to become a selling club and must do everything to hold onto their key assets at a critical crossroads in the club’s recent history. Christian Eriksen firmly falls into that category and will be central to Spurs’ efforts to end their trophy drought in the coming seasons. The move to a new stadium and an improved contract may be enough to convince the Dane to stay put but advances from Real Madrid have also been known to sway players of Eriksen’s ilk.
Juve eye Neves move
Wolves face a battle to hold onto Ruben Neves with Juventus ready to make a January swoop for the highly-rated Portuguese, according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport.
Neves raised eyebrows when he ditched Champions League football with Porto for a move to the then Championship club, but he has made a big impression for the Black Country outfit.
And now reports in Italy suggest Neves could team up with fellow Jorge Mendes client and compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus.
The 21-year-old may view a move as a way to strengthen his hand when it comes to international selection, as he looks to build on his nine caps for the national side.
Love Sport verdict: Wolves will do everything in their power to hold onto someone as integral to their style as Ruben Neves but money talks. Jorge Mendes knows there will be no shortage of interest in his client and the club will recognise the best they can hope for is an increase in the player’s valuation. Juventus appears to be a good fit for the midfielder but a move mid-way through the season seems unlikely.
