Ex-Bath full-back Matt Perry has claimed now is the time for Eddie Jones to call time on his reign as England Head Coach.

There can be little debate over Eddie Jones' success during his time in charge of England. Guiding his side to two back-to-back Six Nations victories in 2016 and 2017, Jones' side fell just short in the 2019 World Cup, finishing runners-up.

Having previously coached Australia and Japan, Jones' five year stint at the helm for England has been the most successful period of his coaching career.

With a win ratio of 76%, Jones has received many plaudits for the job he has done since taking the reigns in 2015. However, after plenty of talk claiming the RFU were desperate to tie Jones down to a new contract after the success in the summer, it has been replaced with claims the coach may not even see out his current contract, set to expire in the summer of 2021.

Speaking to Love Sport Breakfast, Former Bath & England full-back Matt Perry has echoed the sentiment that perhaps Eddie Jones is nearing the end as England boss.

"I think it's probably the right time for him to move on. I think we need probably new ideas, new ways of doing things. You can see some of the comments he's making, you know, it looks and it feels like he's becoming a bit stale, [he] is starting to play a few games from what I see in the media.

"He just looks as though he personally needs a new fresh challenge and with a group of players there, having a good young England coach to come through would be would be a good thing."
