English football has scarcely been more unpredictable than the last fortnight so we've asked Love Sport's finest to try and unpick this week's biggest games so you don't have to.

Portsmouth vs Sunderland (0-1 first leg)

Luther Blissett: I can see this being a nervy affair that goes all the way to spot-kicks - 1-0 Pompey and win on penalties

Ian Stone: Portsmouth at home so they should win and then clean up on pens! - 2-1 Pompey and win on penalties

James Gray: Fratton Park is never an easy place to go and Portsmouth have been much better when behind in some ways - 1-0 Pompey but Sunderland win on pens

Martin Allen: I want an extra point for predicting the winner on penalties - 2-1 Pompey and win on penalties

Paul Mortimer2-1 Pompey but Sunderland on penalties

Bell & Spurling: We're backing the Black Cats to go through at a canter! - 2-1 Sunderland

Patrick Christys: You can't see Portsmouth losing at home but Sunderland know exactly what they have to do - 1-1

Richard Lee: The first game was very tight but Portsmouth will edge this one and Craig MacGillivray, the hero of the JPT Trophy, will return to haunt Sunderland again - 2-0 Pompey

Iwan Thomas: All of my in-laws are Portsmouth fans so this might go down poorly at Christmas... - 2-1 Pompey but Sunderland win on pens

Charlton vs Doncaster (2-1 first leg)

Luther Blissett: Charlton were too strong last week and they will be too strong again this time - 2-1 Charlton

Ian Stone: I've been very impressed with what Lee Bowyer has done at the Valley and I'd expect to see them in the play-off final - 2-0 Charlton

James Gray: I know the manager was fuming when they conceded late away from home but they've been so good on their own patch in 2019 - 2-0 Charlton

Martin Allen: My Dad used to play for Charlton way back when so I've got to go for them - 2-0 Charlton

Paul Mortimer2-1 Charlton

Bell & Spurling: They were brilliant last week so we've got to back the Addicks again - 2-0 Charlton

Patrick Christys: Lee's boys are off to Wembley, no question about it - 2-0 Charlton

Richard Lee: Charlton will get an early goal and cruise through the game before doubling their lead late on - 2-0 Charlton

Iwan Thomas: The local boys are going up! - 2-0 Charlton

Manchester City vs Watford

Luther Blissett: Who else can I back? - 1-0 Watford

Ian Stone: Manchester City will be far too strong, no two ways about it - 3-1 City

James Gray: I'd love to get wooed by the magic of the cup but I just can't see it - 3-0 City

Martin Allen: Troy Deeney, Abdoulaye Doucoure and co are on a roll. Get ready for an upset - 1-0 Watford

Paul Mortimer: 3-1 City

Bell & Spurling: It's heart over head from us once again - 2-1 Watford

Patrick Christys: I can't deny Watford a goal and some excitement but City will come out on top and complete the treble - 2-1 City

Richard Lee: Watford will go ahead twice and get pegged back before Heurelho Gomes ends his career a hero in the shootout - 2-2, Watford win on pens

Iwan Thomas: Watford are going to get battered, aren't they? - 4-1 City

AFC Fylde vs Leyton Orient

Luther Blissett: Leyton Orient at the double! - 1-0 Orient

Ian Stone: Orient have been the best team not in the Football League this season so I'm backing Jobi McAnuff to lead them to glory - 1-0 Orient

James Gray: When the pressure has been on, Orient have gone very defensive but Fylde have already lost at Wembley in the play-off final - 1-0 Orient

Martin Allen: Orient have already accomplished their mission so they will struggle to get back into gear and raise their game after two weeks off - 2-0 Fylde

Paul Mortimer: 3-1 Orient

Bell & Spurling: You can't not back Orient round our parts - 1-0 Orient

Patrick Christys: More goals at Wembley but the local lads (relatively) will come out on top - 3-1 Orient

Richard Lee: Fylde were battered by Salford at Wembley last time out so I think Leyton Orient will do the double - 2-0 Orient

Iwan Thomas: I don't think I could go back the Olympic Stadium if I went any other way - 2-1 Orient
