Speaking about Hodgson and the job the former-Fulham, Liverpool, West Brom and Inter Milan manager has done in South London, former Palace defender Marc Edworthy was enthusiastic about his side continuing under the tutelage of Roy.

"Yeah, they certainly have and I think the Premier League, even just to get into the Premier League- i'm at Derby this afternoon with the game and they've been striving to do that for the last 10 years.
"So I think Roy Hodgson and Ray Lewighton have done a fantastic job there.
"Three successful one-nil victories against Newcastle, Brighton and Watford and they sit 11th in the table so I think the Palace fans should be licking their lips really, because they're only four points off fifth place in the Premier League. And I think it's a fantastic return.

"It just goes to show if you get those back-to-back wins, how you can leapfrog up the table because you know there are some top teams in there and I think you've got to give the guys down there an enormous amount of credit.
