The former United defender thinks his old club need to spend big!
Manchester United's front three is one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's greatest weapons. The pace and skill of Rashford, Martial and James is enough to terrify any defence - but the service the trio receive remain a problem.
The injured Paul Pogba seems permanently MIA, while Brazilian duo Pereira and Fred simply aren't up to scratch. United need more creative options in midfield, and have identified James Maddison as the perfect acquisition - but the Leicester City star isn't going to come cheap.
Speaking to Love Sport Radio, former Manchester United defender Paul Parker bemoaned how slow the Red Devils have been to move for Maddison - highlighting just how much the England international would cost them.
"James Maddison is a fantastic footballer, hell of a player - but why didn't Manchester United see him and get him when he was at Norwich City? If you want him now, he's going to cost you over £120m"
Despite the mammoth fee, Parker said that a signing like Maddison could be of benefit to the entire club.
"Ole should be allowed to go and get players in January, just to add a bit of a spark in to the club and lift the other players. It always makes a difference if a top player comes in".
However, things have changed at Manchester United since Sir Alex Ferguson's time - and, as Parker pointed out, a Leicester City player might now view a move to Old Trafford as a backwards step.
"For me, you can talk and talk, but does the player really want to come? If you look at what's going on at Leicester City, you'd have to question Maddison's mentality if he leaves them now".
