Inter Milan welcome Napoli to the San Siro tonight with both sides wanting to get an early advantage in this tie's first-leg

Tonight Inter Milan face Napoli in the first leg of a blockbuster Coppa Italia semi-final. The match will be played at the San Siro at 20:45 CET.

This will be the eleventh Coppa Italia clash between Inter and Napoli, with the Nerazzurri overcoming the Neapolitans with five wins to two so far- the other four have ended in draws.

Antonio Conte’s side go into the game in buoyant mood following their their dramatic turnaround in the Derby della Madonnina on Sunday, fighting back from two goals down to beat rivals AC Milan 4-2.

Inter have been reborn under Conte after his appointment last summer and now sit on the top spot of Serie A, with Juventus trailing on goal difference following Sunday’s incredible result.

As for Napoli, they are still trying to find their feet following the bitter departure of Carlo Ancelotti, and have again struggled for consistent form under Gennaro Gattuso as they now sit in 11th in Serie A.

The previous meeting between the clubs in Serie A at the beginning of January resulted in a convincing 3-1 victory for Inter Milan.

It has also been confirmed that tickets to the semi-final are banned to residents of the Campania region due to security fears, effectively banning Napoli away fans from making the trip up to the Milan game.

Whilst Inter’s priorities will remain in Serie A as they continue to compete for that prestigious famous trophy that has remained with Juventus since 2011, team predictions suggest that Conte will not rest on his laurels in this two-legged tie.

Inter Milan

Reports suggest Conte intends to make a total of five changes to the side to take on Napoli in the first of their two legged Coppa Italia semi-final at San Siro.

Having served his suspension, Alessandro Bastoni will come back in and he will replace Diego Godin.

Wing backs Ashley Young and Antonio Candreva will both be replaced for the match with Cristiano Biraghi and Danilo D’Ambrosio set to come in for them respectively.

Former Tottenham forward Christian Eriksen will meanwhile start in place of Matias Vecino alongside Nicolo Barella and Marcelo Brozovic in the midfield and Lautaro Martinez will partner Romelu Lukaku in attack having served his suspension.

Napoli

Key Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly is reportedly out of tonight’s game, with the Senegalese still not fully fit following a muscle injury sustained vs Parma earlier this month. This will add to Inter’s confidence going into this evening.
