Olivier Giroud’s short-lived Chelsea career could potentially be coming to an end.
Giroud could reportedly be making it a hat-trick of London club’s under his belt this deadline day if reports are to be believed, as he is widely linked with joining Tottenham Hotspur late on this window.
Giroud first arrived on English shores donning the red and white of Arsenal. After six years of service for the Gunners, The Frenchmen angered Arsenal fans by making the short trip to Stamford Bridge and sign for Chelsea.
For me, if Olivier Giroud joins Spurs then whatever is still remaining of his legacy at Arsenal will be tarnished entirely.— Patrick Timmons (@PatrickTimmons1) January 29, 2020
Things have not panned out exactly how he would have hoped in West London, scoring just five goals in 45 appearances. Ironically, the peak of Giroud’s Chelsea stint was scoring the first in The Blues demolition of former side Arsenal in the Europa League final.

You were the main man in our EL triumph last season and for the club to treat you this poorly just months later is disgusting. The board have completely embarrassed our club this month.

If that wasn’t enough to tarnish his legacy in the red half of North London, joining Spurs would certainly ensure him a frosty reception at The Emirates.
Arsenal fans showed they were fair minded for they way they wished Giroud well when he went to Chelsea. They showed forgiveness when he celebrated wildly on the coach after Baku. But, for me, joining Mourinho's Spurs is a bridge way too far #RememberWhoYouAre pic.twitter.com/cxzFzk5MgY— Layth (@laythy29) January 29, 2020
Why are some of you shocked at Giroud going to Spurs, the guys a snake on and off the pitch, he cost us the title in 15/16 and he cost us a place in the Champions League QF after his performance against Monaco.— MR DT © (@MrDtAFC) January 31, 2020
Chelsea are rumoured to be willing to let the Frenchmen go should they find a replacement, whilst Spurs are keen to bring in a striker with Harry Kane remains on the sidelines with injury.
It remains to be seen as to whether the two sides can do a deal as Chelsea struggle to find a striker of their own, Dries Mertens is the name consistently being linked with a move to the Bridge which would free up Giroud to depart.
