Manchester United announced they have reached an agreement with Sporting Club De Portugal over the signing of Bruno Fernandes.
In a deal that began in the summer of last year, the speculation, paper talk and rumour mill can finally stop. Manchester United took to Twitter late yesterday afternoon to confirm they have agreed a fee with Portuguese outfit Sporting over their star man Bruno Fernandes.
The goalscoring midfielder was highly sought after by a number of clubs, including United’s top four rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
The 25-year-old has opted for Manchester over London, and was welcomed with open arms by new teammate Marcus Rashford who took to Twitter to express his joy at the transfer.

Some fans couldn't quite believe that their side have finally signed someone after weeks of waiting for a transfer.
Fernandes joins a United side that currently sit 5th in the table six points off the top four and are shrouded in unrest at boardroom level. This tension reached a rather ugly boiling point when a section of United fans fired flares at Chief Executive Ed Woodward’s house.
Gary Lineker gave him a slightly less warm welcome as he cited the Woodward incident on Twitter
Another big signing. Your reward will be to have your houses attacked by idiots with flares. https://t.co/8KZIy6WYvA— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) January 29, 2020
The Portuguese star leaves behind a strong legacy at Sporting, with 63 goals and 52 assists to his name from central midfield. He clearly left a lasting impression on his teammates, with numerous Sporting players taking to social media to say their heartfelt goodbyes.
It remains to be seen as to whether Fernandes will make his United debut in front of the Old Trafford faithful on Saturday as his new team take on Wolves in the evening kick-off.
