Manchester United are in the market for a forward and Josh King is on their radar which has seen fans react in varying ways
Manchester United announced the signing of Portuguese playmaker Bruno Fernandes for a reported £46.6 million yesterday evening, which is subject to further add-ons, ending the long running transfer drama.
United, who have had a mixed season to say the least, couldn't quite overturn their two-goal deficit against Manchester City at The Etihad on Wednesday. A wonderful Nemanja Matic strike earned Ole Gunnar Solskjær their second away victory at City this season, but they fell just short of making the Carabao Cup Final.
The Reds are lacking firepower upfront following the long-term injury to talisman Marcus Rashford. It now seems that Bournemouth's Joshua King is on their radar, having had a bid rejected by the Cherries according to Sky Sports.
The prospect of signing the Norwegian has had fans and journalists debating the whether it would be a shrewd signing from the Manchester club.
Selling Romelu Lukaku and looking to replace him 5 months later with Josh King on deadline day doesn’t do much to convince there’s a brilliant transfer masterplan at #MUFC— Sam Pilger (@sampilger) January 31, 2020
Josh King as a loan maybe? But as a signing it's just desperate. Would you ever consider getting Josh King on FIFA. This is short term gain for long term problem— Mark Goldbridge (@markgoldbridge) January 31, 2020
Some fans on the other hand are more upbeat about the striker, who has 45 Premier League goals in his career, potentially coming to the club
Same people crying every single day for a whole month about bringing ‘anyone in’ now up in arms that we’re in for a good player like Joshua King.— Jordan Clarke (@FourFourJordan) January 31, 2020
He’s not going to be a marquee number nine but he has qualities we lack.
Opposition fans on the other hand are mocking their rivals for thinking about signing King.
United want to sign Josh King cause they can’t trust their “generational” in Mason Greenwood. 😂😭— Bhavs (@bhavss14) January 31, 2020
