Ex-West Brom right-back Steven Reid is oozing confidence over his former team's promotion chances this season.

Slaven Bilic’s side currently sit in top spot, boasting a four point cushion over nearest rivals Leeds United.

The Baggies have hit a rich vein of form at just the right time this season, losing just one of their last six and winning four of their five games this month.

This superb run has coincided with stuttering form for their automatic promotion rivals. Second placed Leeds have won just two of their previous five games whilst Fulham are currently three league games without a win.

Speaking to Andy Hodgson’s Kicking Off, former Baggies player Steven Reid is nothing but calm as we approach the business end of the season.

“I think the gap now is too big. Not only can I not see them losing three games between now and the end of the season, but obviously all the teams below who’ve been even more inconsistent, I can’t see them putting a run together that’s going to catch them.”

Whilst getting the three points is always the most important thing, Reid was extremely enthusiastic about the versatile playing style Bilic has implemented at The Hawthorns.

“They are looking good, They are looking strong, they’ve got good experience in the team.

“They can play a variety of different ways, they can put their foot in and play when they need to, they have unbelievable individual talent.

“They’ve got Pereira who is an absolute class act. Hal Robson-Kanu scoring goals for fun, they’ve got a little bit of everything and it’s just a matter of time before they get across the line.”

West Brom are the only one of their promotion rivals to still be in the FA Cup. With a fifth round home clash against Newcastle United next week, it will be interesting to see how Baggies boss Bilic rotates his side in the hopes of both league and cup success.
